In Loving Memory of Emma Joy
Emma Joy

Emma was our first Goldendoodle — raised from a puppy, a true sweetheart, and the heart behind our mission to raise well-rounded family companions.

A tribute from my husband Bryan...

Tragically, we found out yesterday that Emma passed away in a freak accident at the farm. She was four years old and a bundle of joy from the very beginning. In fact, we gave her the middle name “Joy” for a reason — she brought so much of it into our lives. There was never a dull moment with Emma around.

I remember when we got her back from training in Arkansas — we were so frustrated because she wouldn’t listen. Turns out, it wasn’t her — it was us. The trainer used a thick Arkansas accent, and when we said “Emma sit,” she didn’t respond. But when we twanged it out slowly — “Emmmmmaaaa Siiiiiiittttttt” — she minded perfectly. We still laugh about that.

She loved water. Loved to run. Loved to play fetch — to the point we’d worry her heart might explode from excitement. But she never quit. She lived to bring joy to others.

You could always tell when she had a drink — a puddle by the bowl (or toilet), and a wet kiss coming your way. Her beard was always soaked, and her kisses, well… not everyone appreciated them — but that never stopped her.

She loved watching TV, especially animals on the hunting channel. She never just relaxed in the car — she was always on the lookout, nose smudges and slobber decorating the windows.

Emma had our very first litter and blessed four families with her puppies. We kept one — Millie — and she has some very big paws to fill.

She adored Jessica, and the feeling was mutual. They were kindred spirits — both independent, driven, and connected in a way only true companions are. Whether gardening at night or watering the lawn, Emma was always by Jessica’s side. They took care of each other.

Emma was the only dog I’ve ever seen truly smile. She brought that same smile to everyone she met. Before Emma, dogs were just dogs to me. But she was different. She was family.

Emma — you will be deeply missed by everyone who knew you. Rest easy, sweet girl.

"Before you get a dog, you can’t quite imagine what living with one might be like; afterward, you can’t imagine living life any other way."
